First, what is business? Answer: every problem is a business. Then, what is an idea? Answer: ideas are problems discovered or yet to be discovered that someone somewhere is passionately willing to solve. Finding business breakthrough ideas is like finding the breakdown in the environment and the society in which you live. Try to build back the falling walls. For instance, I discovered a particular breakdown in the society especially in the business world. Peoples attitude towards themselves, their past, preset and the nation does not correspond with a tinge of reality.
Finding business breakthrough ideas in not a thing of a common place for if it were so, success will be common. This write up is not however designed to discourage you but to encourage you in spotting opportunities for business growth where others see only obstacles.

One, a breakthrough business idea must find a need, gap, a niche and fill it. Your genuine business idea must find a need in the market place and fill it. In other words, your idea must meet a specific need. You get the picture? Problems create relationships. You need a doctor to solve your health problems. You need a lawyer to solve your legal problems just like you need a pastor to solve your spiritual problems. The point is: man is born a problem solver! Are you one of these men? So, what needs have you spotted lately? For your information, that is where you will find your wealth. Think, think, and think. Thinking enhances your vision and helps you spot needs.

Two: a breakthrough business idea must have an innovative capacity to sustain itself. Product of tomorrow must be ready today. That means your business must give room for future growth. Many start-ups don’t even put this into consideration today. A start up entrepreneur opens the door of office today and tomorrow he is off business. Why? Lacks of the ideas to sustain growth don’t let this happen to you. You competitors are closely watching.

Three: I breakthrough business idea must be unique. Yes, it must be unique. Have you heard of the concept of your target market should buy from you instead of others? The answer to the question is your unique selling point.Every business which desires unstoppable success needs it. Why do you think a classic magazine like “Ovation” stood out for may years far above its competitors in the celebrity publishing world/ its market is unique. What is yours?
Four: a breakthrough business idea must have the potentials to be protected. Very important point, you know what other people don’t know. Your trade secret, your propriety formula known only to you and you alone. Coca-cola thrives on its secret formula. What is yours? Learn to protect it.

Five: a breakthrough business idea must at least be executable by the conceiver of the idea or his idea will call for easy partnership using other people’s skill or ready existing distribution system. If you cannot distribute what you have produced, how do you desire to get wealthy?

Six: a breakthrough business idea must have a clear mission statement. In fact your mission statement should be your everyday sing-song. Mine is to encourage, to enlighten and to empower people through the effective tool of motivational communication. That is my mission and I have obediently stayed with it for years. What is yours? Find it and stay with it until you achieve your goal. The purpose of a mission statement is to guide your vision. Any transaction, action or inaction not corresponding with your mission will result in a waste of tie and your hard earned resources.

Seven and lastly, a breakthrough business idea must have a clear expression in financial terms. Your capabilities, competition, target market and the value your business will add in the market place will cause this to happen.

I know this is the most critical question any start-up will want to ask me. “what if I don’t have money to launch my idea”, before I answer the question, permit me to remind you that every great enterprise begins with an idea in the mind of the creator and with persistence and firmness of purpose, this idea will bring the money you want. How? Agreement!Yes, you heard me. You don’t necessarily need money to make your dream come true; all you need is your idea, a sound agreement with anyone who cares to be of assistance to you.
